Freeware Sequencers
Hey guys.
I just got an old computer up and running and I was hoping for some recommendations concerning freeware sequencers. I searched the forum but found nothing within the last year.
Obviously I googled the topic but I get a similar number of results as, say LCD Tvs; without the cavalcade of reviews. Pirated software is NOT an option for this box and I dont care to load this machine down with trial software.
Has anyone tried any of the hundres of freeware sequencers out there? VST support is a must!

I hear good things about Reaper. It is free for non-commercial use, and a few users on TA are using it with much success.
Krystal audio engine. Free for personal non-commercial use.

With regards to Reaper - which i use and find really good apart from the sometime fiddly job of setting up synths with multiple outputs.
Yoru 'supposed' to pay $40 when the trial time runs out but I've not got round to it yet. All it does it flash up a box when you load it up saying you should purchase it, your then free to use as normal.
krystal isn't really a sequencer, it's a multitrack audio recording/mixing utility. Still quite useful, but for pure electronic music, probably most likely just for mixdown.

You're right, I actually thought it really had midi too.
