best and biggest are two VERY differnet things and don't necessarily overlap.
NI has a bunch of solid kits. If you can't find what you want there, you can't find it at all.

Gonna buy the Icone percussion one. Will post here and let everyone know how its goes.
hey guys, I bought the vengeance sample pack and I think its the best bang for your buck. However I find it lacking in mid percs. Anyone know where to find great mid/low-mid perc samples (bongos, toms, etc)?

I dont know why there is so much hype regarding the Vengeance sample cds? Most of the kick drums and percussion are sampled/ripped straight from other peoples music. Even some of the loops are ripped straight from other peoples music. Thomas Pentons Essentail Drums & Percussion is far superior in regards to quality and usability. It also includes many more percussive elements.

Yeah I did notice some sounds in the sample cds coming from professional songs. Vengeance does have great fx though.

I've heard the Penton samples, I wasn't really impressed... Vengeance is ripped from other peoples music, so the samples aren't that clean, and the native instruments stuff tends to not be very trance focused... So I like the headstrong kits over at the Thrillseekers website, I think they're my favourite drum samples, theres plenty of bongos there too
Also have a look at some of the Sony acid loops, they can give you some good sounds when you put the loops into battery...

they arent taken from people tunes - its the other way around. the best producers use these cds. iv heard stuff that ferry corsten used in his liberation remix. cosmic gate used a loop from it for there excellent ultra curve. the tiesto flight 643 main synth is from it as well. uberdruck heavily use them too also yomanda - the launch has used it.

Right... I can't tell if that's true but there is one thing I do know. Vengeance samples are largely sampled from existing tracks. Some friends of mine found some of their 'booms'/'hallkicks' they used in their tracks. A specific combination of certain sounds and delays (some including those of synths way in the background) which just cannot coincidently be the same.
On the other hand there are quite a lot of people (including established names) regularly using the Vengeance sample cd's. Think Cosmic Gate indeed, or Chris Lake, etc etc.
This above text actually clarifies why the samples (imo) lack dynamics and sound a bit flat in a mix when used as they come from the box. A decent sample pack should contain samples as dynamic as possible.
And the flight 643 stab is from a virus as far as I can remember, the patch (not sure, but I am 100% sure about some urban train patches) is available in some preset pack named after tiesto. I highly doubt he took the sound from the vengeance sample cd . Also consider that the first VEC sample cd came out long after Flight 643 - about 2 years.
