Are there any record shops in T.O anymore that carry Techno/Minimal
I was just wondering where the locals grab tunes from, i know play de record and traxx are still around but someone was telling me Metopoplis closed which was a good place for that stuff and he Pit is gone which was another place.
I just got my tables and would like to grab some tunes locally before hitting the web stores. Any suggestions appreciated, thanks in advanced everyone.

Nice to see people still starting out buying dex & vinyl
Can't comment on where to shop in Toronto, but for online shops I tend to use juno.co.uk
Enjoy!

Sorry dude, but you might as well just start buying online. Depending what sorta music you wanna spin, the selection is almost as miniscule as the amount of record stores themselves.
And yes, it's very good to see you starting on turntables too
Play De is probably your best bet, but they seem to have removed their 'techno' sections and simply absorbed it into their house stuff, so you may need to do some extra digging around to find what your looking for.
And, the minimal they do get in seems to get sold fast and they have a hard time keeping it in stock.

You should check out Play de Record Vintage. You can buy used records there and they may be a little outdated, but you can find some really good stuff there if you dig dip. It's across the street from the regular Play de Record store. You can ask them, and they will point you in the right direction. I think it's still open. But, it's a great deal. I got like 5 or 6 records there for $15.
