"Nicole Richie released from jail after 82 minutes"
LYNWOOD, Calif. – Nicole Richie was released from jail Thursday, just 82 minutes after the pregnant TV reality star checked in for what started out as a 90-hour sentence for driving under the influence of drugs.
The reality show star, who checked into jail in this Los Angeles suburb at 3:15 p.m., was released at 4:37 p.m. "based on her sentence and federal guidelines," Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy Maribel Rizo said without elaborating.
When asked whether Richie spent her brief sentence in a jail cell, Rizo replied: "No further comment.''

Kinda depressing to see people with money get away with all kinds of crimes, while the prisons are filled with people serving multi-year sentences for much lighter crimes.

Goes to show you what a pathetic world we live in when the country can't even stick to a punishment that small with celebrities. It reminds me of horrible parents that try to discipline their children all the time, but always fail in the end by caving.
I think a world's record was set....
