"Into The Forest" : a tribal psychedelic mix by Goatone

A tribal psychedelic journey into forest trance. A plethora of twisted samples, confused loops, driving basslines and, as always, an explosive melodic finish with a reprise mash up to seal it off.

1. Younger Brother - Crumblenaut (Twisted)
2. Necton - Bob on Acid (Acid Casualties)
3. Beat Bizarre - Stereorganic (Iboga)
4. Magnetrixx - Filigran (AP Records)
5. Shiva Chandra - Creator (Spirit Zone)
6. unknown
7. Shiva Chandra - Triphase (Spirit Zone)
8. Ticon - Ghost in the Machinery (Digital Structures)
9. Mandylion - Industrial Saga (Medium Records)
10. Reefer Decree - Meltburn (Emok Remix) (Iboga)
11. Dark Soho - Noise 6 (Alchemy Records)
12. X-Dream - Radio (Remix)(Solstice Records)
13. X-Dream - Intercorporal Stimulator (Global Trance Network)
14. Etnoscope - Sunrise (Digital Structures)
15. S>Range - Dream Program Pt. 1 (Liquid Records)
16. unknown
17. S>Range - Dream Program Pt. 2 (Liquid Records)
18. Human Blue - Demon Dance (Goatone Reprise Mash-up)(Spiral Trax)

Real nice set, all good tunes. Imo, Etnoscope - Sunrise didn't fit in there though, just after 2 dark X-Dream tracks.

Im glad you liked the tunes...as far as that comment, I thought I might hear someone mention that. All of my mixes are constructed in the spirit of the old Anjuna Beach parties so that there is a definitive moment in the set when the tension reaches its peak and breaks into a new sound, eventually leading into the climax. This method is used also by artists such as Goa Gil, Astral Projection, Total Eclipse and so on...Ive found that it is not so popular with those who have not experienced a full moon party or something of that nature, but nevertheless I stick to this pattern no matter what style music I am mixing.

Not that the long explanation was needed, but I thought it might pose a nice topic for discussion.

In any case, this is why I used this particular x dream track. Its dark and atmospheric and gritty and then suddenly breaks into a serene trancey synth line...it sounds like the sun suddenly breaking out of the clouds...this is the point at which the tension is lifted and the mix 'shifts gears' if you will.

thank you for the kind comments. do you have any sets online that I can check out?

Glad you like my last mix. it got alot of positive feedback from all over the world...

This new mix is a completely different sound...very psychedelic and dark in the middle, but I always finish them off with an uplifting ending...all journeys are supposed to end that way.
