electro synths

I know this is a trance forum ,but i heard a few electro tracks on a few other sites that sounded very interesting, was just wondering what synths are used to create them,or what are some of the main synths used to create this type of sub genre.

I would have used one of my synths but,None of these sounds i heard on any of the tracks sounded like none of my synths they sound very bizaree and unique.

You should probably post up examples, coz most of the electro tunes Ive heard use sounds that could be made in just about any synth...

+1

v-station is good. electro is more about using automation, portamento and pitch bend than complex sounds.

often its a case of turning off the synths effects such as reverb and delay. typical trance and electro synth sounds are quite similar.

In general, electro sounds are more raw than the ones used in trance. Electro-purists use analog synths for those sounds, but there are good software synths, like this for example. On leads, there's often no reverb used to bring the sound in front as possible. The mainline in the whole genre is the appreciation towards synthetic sounds. Get yourself some big, raw synth sounds + a good beat going and you´re on your way.

The point isn't to "get out of your body", it's to bring awareness to your consciousness while you're experiencing another reality.

i think electro, rather the minimal sounds can be made with almost any softsynth out there.

square sounds are often used for example. it might get bashed but vanguard can do a pretty sophisticated sound if you know how to tweak it right. does some pretty good electro sounds and it is flexible to do some other good stuff imo..

Jeez, it's just a saw/square osc mix, nothing special, you could get it on every synth that has 2 oscillators (=everyone)

Massive is a great synth for electro. Any synth can make electro sounds, but massive is really electro orientated and has very electro presets.
