Cdplayers. Stanton? Pioneer?

Ive have my two decks for about 2 and a half years, and might want to get cd players, I was looking through older posts and came across many good reviews on the pioneer cdj100s. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with a stanton cd player. I was thinking of the S-500 or the S-650. Anyone know how good these are? Btw heres a link for some info.

Stanton (dual cd player) S650: $400 (US), $630 (CAN)
Pioneer (singe cd player) : $300 (US), $471 (CAN)

Anyone know if the denons are good? and about what price range they are?

Thanks.

I personally don’t like the dual CD player units and, if I were you I would save a bit more and get two Pioneer CD Units. IMHO, out of the CD player available at the moment on the market, Pioneer make the best.

If you want the best, either buy 2 Pioneer single ones or 1 Dennon - DN 2100F .
Pioneer has lots of tricks n cool stuff while Dennon's the best in terms of dry statistics, mainly anti - shock (Throw it on a wall and it'll still play) and they've got the tricks as well. I prefer Dennon but hey, most of us want the Pioneer these days...

I'd never so much as touched a CD deck before but I bought myself a pair of CDJ-100S for Christmas (2001) and I'm very pleased with them. I didn't think I would get used to the cue-ing, after years of mixing with vinyl, but I'm confident with that now and I'm enjoying them.

I'm glad I went for the twin decks and traditional mixer approach, I feel at home with it. I find the quality of sound excellent too. I remember a few years ago, when a guest DJ brought CD decks into a place I was resident at. He was playing much the same kind of material as me, but I found the sound very "edgy" and brittle. I don't find that with the Pioneers. Maybe it's an indication of how they have improved generally - or maybe his decks were just shite (can't remember the make, but it wasn't Pioneer).

I started with Pioneer CDJ-100s and I still have them now. I'm very happy with them. Whichever decks you decide to get, I'd definitely recommend front loading instead of top loading. And CD-drawers are a bad thing too because they can break! The front of the cdj-100 is perfect!

it all depends on what you want...

if you want single decks then go with pioneers...
if you want the dual decks, then go with denons...

I really like the cdj100s I have used them alot and they work well thats for sure. I dont know though I really like american Dj players, I bought some not to long ago and they rock. The drawers do suck, but for $249 I got seamless looping, fader start, 30 second skip, BOP, 4 cues, reverse play, coast and skid effects. and I think they area lot easier to use than the cdj100s too for some reason. Plus american dj has the proscratch 1 and 2 now so maybe you should check them out too.

But I would definately rather have 2 seperate units that the dual rack mount. just because of the addition room on the faces, and the ability to space them out how you like.

American DJ do have good CD players with great value.. the Pro DJ-3 is an example... but for a few extra $ you could get the CDJ-100's which are definateley top choice!

You could also get the new Gemini CD-1800X for US$349 at DJTronix.com which has scratch, disc slide-in, 4 effects, 4 cue points, instant start, pitch bend, shock protection, direct access and seamless loop. There is also the cheaper Gemini CD-400X for US$239. It has shock protection, 4 effects, seamless loop, pitch bend and direct access.

cheers
