Toronto International Film Festival 2007
I searched for a thread, but couldn't find one, so I'm starting one.
Festival season is upon us again....I thought i'd start this thread for everyone to post up their wishlist, experience, trials, tribulations, movie reviews etc. etc. etc.
I've already had the chance to see a couple festival films so here's my reviews:
No Country For Old Men: AMAZING! Javier Barden easily dwarfed the rest of the cast by giving an awesome performance. Some people say they don't like this film because of the lack of background music....Which ironically, happens to be the reason why I loved it. In reality, if a killer were stalking you, there'd be no background music, but it would still be scary as hell! Why would a movie be any different? Perhaps the people that hated the "quiet" feel lacked imagination. Two thumbs up for me.
Rendition: I thought this was good....Not great. Maybe I'm jaded in the sense that watching one too many anti-terrorist films make them all seem so similar. Lots of drama, but nothing that really makes an impression.
