Hello! ALL About DJying

There are many questions in my mind...

- Should I buy belt driven turntables, im only wanting to learn like the basics and stuff to spin at least something, the other reasons is that i can't really afford direct drive tables. ;-(

- Is there such a style as happy trance? ie Happy Harcore mixed with Trance??? Im wondering what would happen if i spin this shit live?

Ive been drinking way too much red cordial me thinkZ!!!

- Where the hell can i get trance/techno records that don't cost me an arm and my two legs, this has to be in SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, any help here would be appreciated...

Sounds like you need a job first! mess around with computer mixing programs until you can afford to spend $$$ on vinyl and equipment. Thats what I did. Cuz its gonna cost you more than you think.

Idea My advice

Here is my advice to you...if you are goin to buy belt drive TT's then get them used and pay no more than $20 a piece...I hope you catch my drift on this one. The reason I say this is because you don't want to spend alot of money on turntables that are hard to mix on. I learned on belt drives, but they were given to me, and if you can get that then go with that. You can mix on belt drives, but it's very hard...you have to do alot of correcting because they don't hold pitch, so that is a good reason right there to not buy them. Like qudda said mess around with computer mixing programs until you can afford to spend $$$ on vinyl and equipment. But over all you should just save your money for some good talbes IMO. Yes there is such a style as happy trance...it's called trancecore. You might want to look into epic trance...I think you might be happier with that IMO. Hopefully this will help you out.

To answer your happy trance genre question, there is a genre called Trancecore that is a mix of Trance and Hard Core. Hard Core and Happy Hard Core aren't too different. Anyway, trancecore isn't very popular...same with happy hard core. I don't know why it's not more popular...it carries a lot of energy!

cuz the beats are too fast in happy hardcore. If you tried to dance to it, you'd either A. break a leg or B. fall with fatigue in less than 30 seconds

Don't ever get belt drives, unless you're only buying one turntable with ripping in mind.

Happy hardcore trance? Never heard of it!

Look at it this way:

If U buy belt-driven:
You will either sell um once you wanna do DJ properly or give DJing up and sell them.

Don't use belt unless it's temporary and REALLY cheap.

About Trance+ HappyHardcore:
Lots of the Happy-Hardcore makesrs from back in the old times are making it back but since Hardcore is kinda dead they return as Trance and are influenced by HH... So stuff like "Starsplash - Wonderfull Days 2001" might be what u're after.

Well if you want to rip records for using them in computer mix programs a belt driven turntable can be a problem. The pitch of them is not always stable making it verry hard to mix with the rips.

I haid this problem myself once.
