Hmm.... I recognise that sound effect at the beggining. Sounds like a virus sample pack that was being sold on e-bay for a while. Or something posing as a virus sample pack. A lot of the elements are actually lifted from actual tracks.

That aside.
The sound effect that keeps repeating is perhaps a little over used.
Nice use of Sidechain, I really think this track has a nice epic feel, but a 3:26 the transition seems a little poorly thought out as for the stutter and slowdown effect. Good idea but not quite there, could be polished.
Could just be my headphones or the sample rate on the player but there seems to be an awful lot of noise on this clip in terms of high end.
I also think the high end of the mix could definately be tidied up but I'm sure that's on your list of things to do.

Wouldn't mind remixing this though. If you have mids or flp that would be really cool.

The idea itself though is really nice and just needs to be tweaked, although I think that you could do with slightly more melodic development.

Keep it going though I like it and would really like the chance to do a rework.

Cheers
Nem

hi mate, ive just updated it, tidied it slightly added a few bits here and there. should be uploaded and ready within 5 mins.

can safely say that nothing has been taken from any tracks. :P.

yeh sure, u got msn? can give you all necessary files on there pal.

cheers for feedback, have another listen, def happier with it now.

as for the noise, it was jus a white noise i made to try and add a bit more atmosphere, havent taken it out but have toned it down slightly if its still not right in your ears tho then tell me.

thanks again

paul

Listening:

I like your use of atmospheric effects and big boom and "whoosh" sounds! I've always been into that stuff

The big rolls and stuff are nice too, you've got a good handle on all the pure "sound" elements, which almost makes up for the lack of melody in the opening.... Which is where I think the track falls down a little, if you could bring some of those melodic elements in a little sooner, the track would benefit a lot.

Theres some problems with the mix as well, a bad bit of resonance on the pad when it first comes in is quite bad, and that kick is quite obnoxious... Maybe ADSR it to remove the release portion, its too long. The track sounds pretty muddy to be honest, which is a pity becuase it means you miss some of the great melody later in the track.

The string sound you have at 2:33 is a particular strength too, I really like it The melody is also really nice, but the piano needs more highs to bring it out more, its a pretty essential part of the track.

This track has good potential, but IMO needs restructuring. Keep up the good work.
