Have you got Technics? Cos you should find that with a pair of Techs, any of the thin slipmats will slip absolutely fine. The custom slipmats tend to be thicker and while they should be fine most of the time, they're more likely to have issues than the thin ones in my experience.

If you're still having issues with a pair of thin slipmats then it's likely something else is to blame (warped records, etc)

If you haven't got Techs and your deck torque isn't as good as it might be then yeah, bits of wax paper in between can help - or what also works really well is a record-shaped bit cut out of a plastic carrier bag (the thin normal supermarket type)

go and buy the black/purple technics slipmats that came with the sl1210 M3D's. They are ultra thin felt, with a plastic slip sheet for underneath - they are by far the best balance of slip and control.

If you are a turntablist, many swear but butterugz.

I used the thin plastic that my turntable came wrapped with inside the box. Really thin and doesnt bunch up. I suppose wax paper would work fine as well. Jus slap that sumbitch under your mats and go to town.

plastic bag from your local convenience store will help as well. just cut a circular shape from the bag to put under your mat, and make a little hole where the spindle goes.

I remember this site about it to when some asked the question. Here was the guys answer.

http://www.dnbforum.com/showthread.php?t=3662

DJSketch said this
I tried all kinds of shit slipmats, make sure their cotton. I have old bed sheets that have lasted as slipmats for over seven years and they slip as soon as you touch the record and go when you let go.
Its all you need and they dont cost a penny.

If you have thick felt slipmats throw them in the bin or cut some old plastic inner sleeves and put them underneath.

or

Klusta said polish ya platters

So there other ideas and all to look into.

Since I been using wax papper and it works for me.
