Thumbs up Bioshock

Demo came out a few days ago, such an amazing game. Really short demo but amazing. I recommend all to download it. One of the few games out now running on the UT2007 engine, runs fantastic on max with absolutely no slow down.

bought the game today and am completely blown away..

It puts F.E.A.R. and Half Life 2 to SHAME in every category. The atmosphere is just unbelievable.

This game is so deep...There are so many ways to customize your character and weapons that you'll probably need to play through it a dozen times to try them all out..

Every weapon in the game has 3 types of ammo, all with different effects...and the "plasmid" skills are incredibly satisfying to use. These are biological "things" you attach to your body to give you special powers. You'll really need to THINK on-the-fly during battles if you want to survive. For instance, if you see an oil slick beneath some enemies, light it up with the fire plasmid to burn them to a crisp. Gun turrets and other electronics are short-circuited by the electricity bolt.. You can catch grenades with tele-kinesis skill, and toss them wherever you like, either killing the guy who threw it, or blowing holes through walls to reach new areas, Oh, and my personal favorite (so far)...the deep freeze plasmid (ice). Imagine freezing a raging maniac just before he cuts your head off...You hear him moaning in pain at being frozen and you only have a few seconds before he thaws, so you quickly switch to your shotgun and send bloody ice cubes flying across the room.

F*CK YEAH!

14 reviews so far with an average of 97%.

God I wish I could afford to drop $60 on a game right now.

If your rig can run Bioshock smoothly (at LEAST a Pentium D and 7600GT), go for the PC version...It's identical to the 360 version but the controls are much easier on the "hacking" sections with a mouse...and there are quite a few machines you'll need to hack/possess if you want to survive
