CDJ Error

Im not sure what's causing my cdj (cdj800) to be like this but whenever i insert a cd, it takes a long time to load! sometimes it gives me a e-83 03 error... I searched it up and it seems like the disc is spinning but it might be dirty! but when i look at the cd, there's not even one single scratch and it looks like it was the first time ever used. I even popped into my other cdj and it works fine.

Can this be the cause of a dirty lens? if not, what could be the problem?

Anyone knows how much pioneer charges for cleaning and how long they take to clean it up?

Also, this is not the only cd that causes this, my other cdj seems to hate more cds as of lately!

anyone can give me an insight of what's going on?

Thanks!

You'll hear from a lot of folks here that the CDJ's (especially models from 2+ years ago) have all sorts of hardware issues. I had basically the same problem. Most likely, your laser is bad. The short story is that you'll need to get the drive replaced. The long story is how to get it replaced. Pioneer is a bitch to deal with when it comes to warranty repairs. But, they know they have lots of hardware issues, so if you keep bitching, they'll finally give you an authorization code to get it fixed at a local authorized service provider (even if your warranty is expired).

oh really? that's great!! i'll try to give them a hard time, but the problem is that im leaving canada in late december and im scared that they might take longer than that! if i had to pay, got any idea how much it'll cost? i think i heard someone got theirs replaced for 400 dollars per cdj which is ridiculous!!

I'm not entirely sure about the repair cost. But the key is to get it repaired at a local service provider. Pioneer will try to get you to mail the CDJ's to them for warranty work, which is where I think a lot of people have to wait a long time. They probably have a huge backlog of warranty work and that type of work is not their highest priority. When I got mine repaired locally, it still took a couple weeks because they had to order the parts; but I do like being able to know where my decks are at all times.
