Mixer to buy

According to your practical experience throughout the years which mixer do you recommend the most to go along with a pair of CDJs 1000 MK3? Please keep in my mind that I have a tight budget.

Thanks.

You should ask your self these questions... What kind of DJ are? What is your budget? What features do you want? What are you going to use this mixer for (mobile, club, bedroom, etc)? What brands are you attracted for?

You could get a used DJM-600 for that price easily. Try Ebay/Craigslist.

if youre a technical dj who wants to take advantage of filters/etc id say go with a allen & heath 64

if you want a good mixer with an onboard fx unit... go with the djm400

cheers

I liked the DJM400 and the Rane Empath Black on Black or Blue (not the rotary). They're both good mixers as far as I'm concerned who have a basic fx system which is what i am kind of looking for right now. Any other recommendations?

I like the 400, only problem is it doesn't have a master out AND an additional line out (what i use for recording and what not)...may be something to think about..........

how about my DJM-707...HAHA perfect for my bedroom

I would say look at the Eclers, the new A+H (not sure what the retail price is on that), or a Rane.

The Pioneer DJM-700 and 800 are the only Pioneers I would even consider buying myself, and those are out of your price range.

You may also want to consider the amount of channels you'll need. I have a Ecler Nuo4 which is a 4-channel mixer. It doesn't have a lot of 'extras' such as on-board effects or many pretty lights, but it has master (XLR), booth (RCA), and a recording (RCA) outputs as well as effects send/return. It also fits within your budget range.

Generally, though, you should try to demo as many of the recommendations for yourself to see which one you like the most.

Yep, the Nuo-4 is a nice mixer.

Definitely try a few out though. Choose a mixer thats good at being a mixer first and foremost as well. Try not to be turned on by blinky things and effects, you can always add those on later
