I watched that a few months ago. As with most everything else in this world, it does contain a few factual errors so you can't take it at 100% face value. It also contains a wealth of good information, though - so I'm not discounting it, either. |
Agreed, this movie is very old. And there are some inaccuracies, I didnt like it that much. The second half was better, and the end was brilliant ... I like the "Mad As Hell" clip, I liked them talking about how bad media and television is, that was my highlight moment ...

I would not say Christianity in its most pure form is a means of control. John Wycliffe was one theologian and father of the protestant reformation to advocate separation of church and state.
I certainly don't take everything in the doc for what it is, but it is a mind-opener. |
I agree. The Essenes were apparently a very benevolent bunch.
I don't want to sound like a peddler of Masonic literature, but I was reading something just recently that delved further into it which I found to be extremely interesting.
| quote: | The name Essenes is supposed to be derived from an ancient Syrian word meaning "physician," and these kindly folk are believed to have held as their purpose of existence the healing of the sick in mind, soul, and body. According to Edouard Schuré, they had two principal communities, or centers, one in Egypt on the banks of Lake Maoris, the other in Palestine at Engaddi, near the Dead Sea.

edit:
BTW - The Essenes were very likely the same people who wrote the Dead Sea Scrolls
(which are now in the possession of the Rockefeller Foundation with armed guards watching them 24/7)
