Filo & Peri
Thursday September 27th 2007

Crescent Moon Parties is excited to announce Filo and Peri Thursday Sept 27th along with local floor shaker Roland Darra! New York natives, Filo & Peri, who are filling dance floor across the nation this summer with their tune "Anthem" will be igniting the main room. They are currently #42 on the DJ list and rising rapidly http://www.thedjlist.com/djs/FILO_AND_PERI/.

When Filo and Peri are behind the decks, not a soul in the club is standing still. Just ask global DJ Armin Van Buuren; once Van Buuren got his hands on Filo and Peri’s first record “Elevation,” he played it for weeks on his “A State Of Trance” syndicated radio show. Over the past several years, Filo and Peri have broken onto the international dance music scene as one of the hottest US DJs and producers. The “world’s #1 DJ” Paul Van Dyk signed Filo and Peri’s “Ordinary Moment” to Vandit Records and international sensation Erick Morillo signed Filo and Peri’s “Long Train Runnin’” to Subliminal Records, both having played Filo & Peri’s tracks live for months. Filo and Peri continue to build on their success with Paul Van Dyk with "Anthem", their latest track signed to Vandit, an epic, peak-time/main-room, techno-trance annihilator.

Filo & Peri tour globally at prestigious places such as Ibiza, London, Melbourne, Toronto, and other locations. Recently, they have performed between Tiësto and Christopher Lawrence at Bang Music Festival in Miami, at Spundae in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and at Nikki Beach Club in Miami. They currently hold coveted bi-monthly residency at Viva in Toronto.

Roland Darra, one of Atlanta's hottest new DJs, is opening up the night. Roland is most well known for the opening sets that he played for Armin Van Buurin, Seb Fontaine, Dave Seaman, and Kimball Collins. He hosts a weekly radio show called Globalized on Thursday nights from 12am to 1am on Atlanta's 91.1 EDMSS. For more on Roland Darra visit www.myspace.com/rolanddarra.

Why the %$#& did eleven50/Opera always insist on bringing decent music in on Wednesdays and Thursdays, like they're scared to book a good DJ on the weekend when normal people have off? Are they scared they might lose a few bucks and some drama cause the hip hop kids might have to keep it to Compound for a night?! Seriously, I'll NEVER understand this... and I don't see how people can say "They can't afford them" on the weekends, when Wetbar has a good DJ every other Friday and even Fever has booked two good shows two nights in a row??!?!?! I are confused.

It's probably because Filo and Peri are doing gigs on Friday and Saturday at more high-profile events. The clubs have to book them as they're passing through, or not get them booked at all.

We'd all like to have DJs want to play here on Saturdays, but so do people in every other city in this country.

I might go to this, but if they play "The Anthem" I'll either a) vomit or b) run out the club, vomitting on a bouncer in the process. Remind me NOT to eat Taco Bell that night...

I would bet my next nonexistent paycheck that they will play it so have some motion sickness pills ready. Although I really hate the guitar and singing its pretty sick when the gayness ends and the actual music starts...

Yeah, I actually think events during the week are better anyway.

1. If is that important to you, you'll find a way to make it out.

2. Weekday events mean you get more people who are there for the music (and didn't just go out to go to any random club and happen to stumble upon a place where there's a decent DJ performing that night). Honestly, the general Atlanta "club crowd" annoys the hell out of me.

Plus, from a financial perspective, places like Eleven50/Opera can pack the place out on a Saturday without needing a big-name DJ; so, why add expense? The big names will get people there during the week when the place might otherwise be empty.

The point was it's always been that same club, whereas everyone else seems to have no problem getting someone on the weekend. And OBVIOUSLY I wasn't attacking anyone (or whoever runs this crescent moon thing), just the venue itself for ALWAYS being that way. I mean shit, I'll just have a good time with all the house DJ's Fever brings in lately..

And no DJ is really worth having to go in for 10 hours at 8AM and stand all day the next day, which my job is. I know a lot of people face the same dilemma.

ASOT1, that's a grand comment from someone I've never met and hope I never will. I'd only care if my friends did or didn't miss me, but since you're not one of them, and none of my pals will be there... well, you get my drift. Have fun
