REVIEW: Ferry Corsten @ Mansion 10-06-07

OK, I got to Mansion with a group of 5 (me, my friends Jackie and Keila, Javi [JD8180] and his gf Alej) and the line was down the BOTH blocks! One was for those who had tickets and the other was not. So we go to the ticket holder line, and we were already annoyed that we had to stand there. So like after 10 minutes we said screw this and moved to the front and they let us in, woot!

The club was not packed, it was full, but at least we were not squished like sardines!

So we find a spot towards the front, the pole to the far left and we made it our own personal table

They opened up the dance floor right in front of the DJ, so it was not all VIP which was awesome!!! ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME MANSION WOKE UP!!!

I did not see the opening DJ, so no review there...

FERRY F*CKING CORSTEN!!! Enough said! lol He rocked it!! He had high energy, was dancing around, was having a great time!! Tracks he played...

*Falling under your spell (I'm not sure if this is the title of the song)
*Breakfast - The Sunlight
*Dubfire - Roadkill
*K&A - Always a Fool
*A&B- Oceanic (Super 8&Tab remix)
*Bedrock - Heaven Scent (Greg Downey remix)
*Ferry Corsten - Beautiful
*Ferry Corsten - Into the Dark
*Vincent De Moor - Fly Away (Sean Tyas remix)
*Ferry Corsten - LEF (the dub mix?)
*Ferry Corsten - Brainbox
*Ferry Corsten - Junk
*System F - Out of the blue
* Ferry Corsten - Fire

Great seeing Jordy's gf (I do not know your name sweetie, sorry!) and thanks for the drink Infinite Trance!

I LOVE FERRY <3

Mansion's new marketing team made it a point to open up the front now for dj driven parties. It started with steve lawler(i know this cause on my bday lawler was chilling at my table on the terrace for a lil and told me this...) basically he said he stipulated in his contract that there be a certain amount of dancefloor, since his management heard they have all those tables.

the party did very well and now they have said they will open the front when bringing in touring dj's. They do understand that is they want to compete in the dj games they had to do this cause alot of people dont go cause of the vip floor.

With that being said glad Ferry did well and it looks they are trying to make it more enjoyable for the music folk...I will make my return to mansion(haven't been there since 04) this Saturday, Sasha will be ace!

I've been digging that track for a few weeks now. I gave it to Edgar cuz he'd drop something like that now & again.

Awesome set by Ferry, he is still the man. And thank God Mansion opened up the dancefloor a little and brought in reinforced sound (had a huge stack of new speakers brought in for this). Sounded much better, and Ferry would have blown their whole system if they didn't do this, because he was dropping some sick beats throughout his set.

Anyone who has ever witnessed a Corsten set knows that his strongest point has always been his ability to put together sets that dabble in different areas, but flow perfectly and result in a complete mindfucking for the listeners. Last night was no exception. He brought it, starting with 3 vocal tracks, which I usually do not care for but they were not bad at all. And then the breakdown from the 3rd one came in and I was , shit blew that place up like Hiroshima. Right there I knew it was on and Ferry was gonna tear shit up and not tone down anything for Mansion. He continued on bringing in the techy and hard tracks, mixed in with high BPM straight trance and some buildups and blowups to boot, all meshed together perfetly IMO. Bottom line, it was a stellar perfectly constructed set and one of the best trance sets I have heard in a while. Unlike Tiesto, Ferry did not let the venue dictate what he played. Instead he played for his true fans that have come to expect a mind numbing set from him every time. Only issue was he only played around 3 hours, but I cannot complain cause he made every second count.

Im awake now...

Awesome time last night.. Arrived at 11pm and stood in line for about 30 minutes before they let anyone in.. I skipped past the line and It was $40 at the door but I had met Ferry earlier I had discounted admission for $30.. This being my first time at Mansion I scoped out the club for a while Chicco Secci was on stage, which he was spinning a very progressive house set...

Ferry came on at 1:30am and played for about 2:30 hours.. It took him a little while to get warmed up but half hour in the place was going crazy.. He moved from progressive into tech massive beats, which got the whole club bouncing... He looked like he was having a good time like usual and dropped all the favorites, Brainbox FTMFW!..

My rants about Mansion.. Never have a seen a club so bent on money... The lighting is amazing, the effects are cool (foam, confetti, etc).. Lasers were great.. but it just about ends there..

Tons of staff standing around doing nothing, pushing people around if need be.. Everyone has an attitude when you ask them questions.. VIP tables as far as you can see, but no couches or anywhere just to sit down.. Expensive Drinks.. 99% of the crowd weren't there for Ferry at all, just because it is the place to be.. Thank god they opened the dance floor because I could have only imagined what it was otherwise..

Good to see some TA's out.. If it wasn't for my love for Ferry and the fact that I met him earlier in the night I would be pretty disappointed, but all and all it was a good time..

I hope Sasha makes it worth being there, because I don't plan to go back to Mansion...

Sorry Flo... Ferry > UF anyday..

cool that they opened up the front finally, but the tracklist makes me want to puke. looks to me like ferry corsten was jacking off all his own tracks to the mansion crowd.

good shit that he dropped falling though.

still, very glad i didnt bother with this. gonna skip sasha next week too. id like to see sasha again, but i got better things to do.
