Paul van Dyk - Dubmission (May '92) - first known PvD liveset

Just a few days before, there was a neighboring thread by WardC about the June '92 Dubmission set of PvD here and this set was considered to be the very first known PvD liveset. Now, there is another one in the Dubmission series and this is the "May '92 Dubmission" set of Paul van Dyk together with Kid Paul. And this time it is probably really the earliest liveset of the early Paul van Dyk that made it into the year 2005. And both livesets together (May 1992 and June 1992) are the only PvD livesets reported for the entire year 1992.

I do not have possibilities to offer you a direct download (like WardC did in his thread). So I uploaded both livesets (the May and the June 1992 sets, both together) to the Mixingbowl

Dubmission'92 sets HERE.

I also added a few historical images to the download detailling the story of the Dubmission series including one of the very early Paul van Dyk (looks spacey) .

The May '92 set comes like the June '92 set in two parts, each part is around 30 minutes long and 40MB big. That makes a total of around 160MB. Paul van Dyk probably contributed Part 1 of the May set and Part 2 of the June set. What do you think? Do you have an idea about the tracks both DJs are playing in the May '92 set as this appears to be totally "undiscovered land" so far? A preliminary tracklist of the May set was posted by Zjokke1977 2.5 months ago in the PvD tracklisting archive (but unfortunately nobody had the May '92 set to discuss it). MikeyMike did not add the set to the PvD tracklist archive although he was asked to do so (for example by djash). So this is the chance to present the set to a somewhat greater audience and number of readers/listeners and that is one of the reasons for this thread...

This is the preliminary May '92 tracklist contributed by Zjokke1977:

Dubmission (May 1992)
-
Part 1:
01. 00:00:00 Lee Cabrerra - Special
02. 03:31:00 ID (Take Me Away)
03. 07:11:00 ID (Do You Feel Me?, Do You Want Me?)
04. 10:59:00 ID
05. 12:42:00 Quazar - Last Train To Paradise
06. 16:30:00 ID
07. 20:37:00 ID
08. 24:17:00 ID
09. 26:58:00 ID
10. 27:38:00 ID
11. 29:53:00 ID

Part 2:
01. 00:00:00 ID
02. 03:25:00 ID
03. 07:33:00 ID
04. 09:28:00 ID
05. 17:08:00 ID
06. 19:34:00 ID
07. 21:22:00 Jam & Spoon - Stella
08. 24:39:00 ID

So, any comments on this very early and probably earliest PvD liveset?

Maybe, I do not know it. But the Quazar track sounds trance-like in contrast to the tracks 1-4. Now, the whole set also contains a lot of vocals (would be interesting to hear what the vocals-haters say about that , also has some parts that would qualify as Eurodance. But anyway, the whole set is quite driving, builds up a lot of pressure and has some elements you can find in his very recent sets as well ....

I think, this is a typical set for the "non-Detroit-Techno" Berlin scene of that days.... Track 11 by the way sounds as if it is mixed into Track 10. This track 10 sounds very familar to me, but can't say what it is...

no it's not the first PVD set. But it may be the first PVD set which is recorded. He started DJ in 1989 or so.

Now, as I wrote, it is the first known set of PvD. There is another one from 1992 I know of (Glasgow in May or November 1992) but that's it.

And yes, he started earlier as a DJ. But the exact date is unknown. In the more or less official biographies, the Dubmission series, some clubs where he played (Tresor, Bunker, a club called 'Turbine Rosenheim') are the first. I myself know that he did not start his DJ career at the Dubmission series but at the so-called "brain parties" in 1990 and 1991. But do not ask me where this took place and why exactly "brain". Maybe Brain because of drugs. I don't know.

Recently I found the web page of the "brain party producer" of that days. maybe I will ask him about the parties and the early PvD. maybe...

It is a torrent site. You need to download the so-called .torrent file. Then you need to use a Bittorrent client to download the files from other downloaders of that file. That works.

And the site is not down, the torrent file is well-seeded at the moment (which means that the download process will be quite fast).
