Re: getting a job around LA??

So whats up guys. I live in Mississippi...a long ass away from you guys, but I came out there for EDC this year and had a fucking blast. The weather alone makes me want to move out there! One of my buddies from here moved out there about 5 years ago or so and he said it really isnt that hard to pay the bills and shit. My main concern would be finding a job to support the bills by myself of course. And right now I only bring home about $1800 working for Regions mortgage as a loss mit counselor (collections). Thats pretty good money considering im 23 and have no college degrees at all.
So my question is, what is the average hourly rate out there? And if someone knows of any collections/mortgage companies that might be looking to hire then let me know...or if im not able to find a job in that field, what would some other jobs pay me?
THANKS in advance! |
I used to work for Option One Mortgage. They are in Irvine which is about an hour from LA without traffic. Their Servicing Division is always looking for loan counselors. I still know a few team leads so if you see any positions you are interested in let me know, I'll forward your resume.

this so called "hour away from LA" thing is BS...both from OC and simi valley.
true, under IDEAL circumstances, one hour. but more realistically is 2-3, and if you catch it just wrong, 4-5. Sadly, I would choose simi over OC though, despite the rednecks, which is the main reason I left ohio. At least I can relate to em, even though I hate em. And "just wrong" from simi is harder to come by than OC in my experiences...though I bet there is more leg breaker positions in OC. I dunno about that last bit though, just an assumption.

dude...some of the job listings are exactly like what i do here...whats the pay like? you know? I was looking at the Loan Consultant III position...3-5 years experience and all, seems fitting for myself...do you know what the pay for that would be?
the only downside to that is being an hour away from la...i want to live right around la
but hell, if it pays well enough...im down for anything new really! |
I believe Loan Counselor I start in mid $30,000, so Loan Counselor III may start in the mid to upper $40,000 (but don't quote me on that). Its a good company to work for, but they are in the middle of being acquired. The Servicing Division is probably going to be the only area that survives the acquisition.
