Question Software to Recover an Existing Harddrive Partition?

Background:
I ordered parts to a new computer but the particular hard-drive in question is from the old computer, so it already had stuff on it, however when I put it into the new machine, I get a message that pops up saying that Windows needs to reformat it. (im using XP Professional). Oh by the way, I am stacking three hard drives, however the other two are reading fine.

As you can see I dont want to loose anything on the hard drive in question since its already been partitioned and has all my stuff on it including music.

So does anyone know any software that will allow me to access the partition already in existance on the harddrive so I can to atleast try to get it off onto something else (ie. external drive or even another hard drive)?

I think one thing it might need to do is to reset the master boot record but i dont know.....

any help will be appreciated.

If the drive appears in Windows then you should be able to get the data back. Download and install Easy Recovery Pro from www.ontrack.com and it will most likey recover the data from that drive. When you install it, it runs in Windows but it also allows you to create a bootble CD that you can run outside of Windows where it will attempt to recover the data off that drive. Try recovering it in Windows first, then if that fails try the bootable CD option. I've tried a lot of data recovery programs and this one has always given me the best results. Good luck.
