... toys toys toys ... how else to spend money you get back from the gov't ?

havn't read much on the board about what you all might use for effects processors.

I'd like an external effects module.. I was planning on just going with a DJM600 mixer, but i'm not really convinced it's what I want (i like the mixer i have now) - so the question about effects pops up.

the needs are simple... flanger, echo, autowah, etc etc effects with beat sensitivity in an external package.

seen the (pioneer) efx500, kaos pads, alesis airfx... havn't seen much else...

there's gotta be some other interesting stuff out there

I am currently saving money to buy Alesis AirFX...
I think it's the best outthere if you don't want to spend loooaaaddsss of money...

I have the Alesis AirFX, but I just got the Korg Kaoss Mixer...with a beefed up Kaoss Pad installed in it. It has 20 more effects and sampling capability...where the original Kaoss Pad has 60 effects and no sampling.

As far as which one I like better...Id have to say the Kaoss Pad. There is much more control as far as how much effect you want to use, etc. Plus it has sampling wich is pretty cool to play around with. BUT...I am going to miss a few really cool effects that the AirFX has that the Kaoss doesnt (although its still pretty new to me and I havent fully expirimented with it).

If you are seriously interested in the Kaoss, I would suggest waiting a little longer till the Kaoss Pad 2 comes out. Although there is no date Im sure it should be out soon.
