Timestretching help in FL Studio please

Hi guys im needing help stretching vocals in FL Studio. If i move the timestretching dial in the FL Sampler the slightest bit up or down it dramatically speeds up or slows down my vocal and doesnt seem i can fine tune it to a BPM.Can i stretch a vocal to a specific tempo??I know how to "Auto-detect tempo"then set my track tempo to the vocal bpm but i dont want to do that i want to do it the other way around.

Another question,to load a accapella i load it into a sampler the drag and drop to either the playlist or the bottom of the playlist.Which is coreect or niether???

Cheers for any help.

Vocals should be always loaded as an audio clip, this way is easier, and you can see all the freqs, wich is extremely helpful when synching. About time stretching, rather than FL use Time Factory, FL time stretching does not has the best algorytm.

i wouldnt dare timestretch large audio clips inside of FL. you need to chop the vocal clip on the beat so the tempo autodetect gets the correct bpm, and then it will sync correctly

um... actually, it does.

fl uses elastique pro. ableton and cubase use elastique soloist/efficient, which are cheaper versions (not as good).

In my own experience, it does not, I have stretched vocals from 140 to 90 in FL, and it sounds just awful, with Time Factory, it sounds fine, Time Factory, is for sure one of the top tools for time stretching, but we are talking about a specialiazed tool for this, so I cant blame FL .

I'll have to try that. It makes sense.

Audio clips are the only way to go with vocals, drop them into the bottom of the playlist. I'm about finished with a vocal remix I've been working on since last Thursday. I kept it at the same BPM so I wouldn't have to deal with time stretch headaches. Now that I've read this thread I'll be ready for next time, in case I want to time stretch.

Wow, hey, I just chopped some vocals up into beats then selected "fit tempo" from the audio clip menu, worked perfectly. I took the vocals from 130 BMP to 140, perfectly in sync. Good stuff guys.

I still like to chop the vocal almost into words, and get them perfectly spot-on by hand, i somehow still don't trust timestretching when it comes to vocals.
