$29 Altec Lansing High Definition Noise Free Headphone Etymotic Research Earbuds

sup yall, just thought I'd share an awesome deal I found on Buy.com. These headphones normally sell for $90-100+ retail, and the cheapest on Pricegrabber is $85 shipped. Apparently they have good noise isolation and produce very accurate sound. Should be a good Christmas gift for someone still using the generic Ipod buds

Altec Lansing High Definition Noise Free Headphone Etymotic Research Earbuds

$39.99 (sale price)

If you sign up as a new user for Google Checkout (takes 30 seconds), you save $10 off your order, bringing the total to $29.99 with free shipping.

description:

SOUND AND SILENCE IN PERFECT HARMONY!
InMotion earphones with Etymotic Research technology deliver a perfect combination of near-perfect sound reproduction and dead-quiet noise isolation. While musicians, audiophiles and acoustic engineers have utilized this (ER) technology since the mid 80s, it is now available to enthusiasts anywhere with the introduction of the new inMotion earphones.

Engineered to provide a genuinely accurate music stream, these micro earphones assure smooth treble, clear and natural piano, crisp percussion and rich orchestral music. The earphones are shaped to comfort-fit like earplugs, capturing awesome bass within the ear. Importantly, this earplug design blocks out external sound, allowing lower level listening volume and preventing hearing damage and overload distortion from otherwise excessive noise. Perfect silence for beautiful music. Just listen.

here's one review

these headphones were a collaboration between altec lansing and etymotic. Basically, altec lansing took etymotic's technology and design and changed it slightly.

unfortunately, the change was bad. I'm comparing this to the etymotic er-6i which costs roughly eighty-five dollars at on amazon . the worst part is that the part of the headphone that the earpieces attach to are at least double the diameter of the ones on the er6i.

This wouldn't be a problem with most headphones, except these headphones are DESIGNED to be pushed deep into the ear to create the isolation and seal that the etymotic headphones are renowned for. As a result, you can feel the plastic stub (that the eartips attach to) on your ear, and that is uncomfortable.

it is like i can feel a hard plastic tube in my ear. The er-6i does not have this problem at all, since the stub is much smaller in diameter.

i returned these headphones after a couple days of trying to get used to them. I have since bought my 2nd pair of er6i and have not looked back.

Yea, I think the ER-6i is a better choice.
