In my opinion, sound quality on the djm600's aren't too great.
How much are you paying for the used one?
Most likely, you can find better mixers for the price you're probably paying for it. Since you want effects, if you're not planning on getting more decks, I'd stick with the pvc275's and get the efx500.

The advantage of getting an EFX is that you can hook your effects anywhere you want. If you get the DJM600, you must stick with the DJM for effects.

I say, stick with a "basic" mixer and get extras on AUX outputs/intputs

Um probably look into a Nuo 4 or Nuo 3 (with an effector). I have a Vestax and my DJM 400 sounds so much better with CDs than the Vestax did. The Vestax is analog..remember, and most of it was designed for TTs with vinyl (an analog medium). Although the Nuo 3 is analog, it's going to produce much better sound than an old Vestax mixer (which is still good) has. Newer analog technology basically.

the vestax has send/return ports but to be honest, they dont work that well with the efx500 (talking out of experience).. i've had issues with them and i also have read that alotta people can't set it up to work right!! we may all have the wrong configuration but i honestly doubt it!!

i have an efx500(48k) and the quality when used is just shit in my opinion.. would i prefer using the 1000 (96k)?, obviously.. but i dont think the price justifies it... i say use the efx500 for bedroom use so that when u play out in a gig u would know how the 1000s work!!

About $350 for an Used DJM-600, probably the same price that I can get a DJM-400.

Well the Nuo 3 it's just too basic, I'm thinking of makinga big jump on a mixer quality, to an high-end mixer.

I used once the DJM-400 (outdoor party) and I loved it, but to be honest I didn't noticed the difference in sound between the Vestax Mixer and the DJM-400 in the same place. another issue is that it only has RCA Outs, and I would like to have more master output options.

hmm.. although i'm not a big fan of djm600, $350 isn't bad at all as long as it functions properly without any problems, but if you want to take the big jump in upgrading your mixer, i would recommend that you look into other mixers. if i were to choose from the djm400 & 600, i would go with the 400, but would definitely go with other options, if you're up for it. if you can afford it, you should check out the djm800's, or even nuo5's.

Really, really really good sounding analog mixers were where we started (Bozak, Urei 1620). But they have always been expensive. Those two mixers are still coveted to this day and a reconditioned model will run you around $2000 USD.

It's easier and cheaper to make a "decent" sounding digital mixer than it is to make a great sounding analog mixer.

Neither is better... a good quality mixer is just that, good quality.

Ecler, Rane and A+H make very good sounding analog mixers.
