Steve Lawler – Courses For Horses

OUT NOW THRU BEATPORT & DJDOWNLOAD WITH A FULL RELEASE FOLLOWING ON 5TH NOVEMBER

Steve Lawler – Courses For Horses
1) Original
2) GTR Remix
3) GTR Reprise

Recorded exclusively for his latest compilation Viva London, Steve Lawler presents his latest single…

‘Courses For Horses’ is a definitive techno anthem for the noughties. “Just as with the compilation,” says Steve, “I’ve been really energized and excited by the music that’s currently out there and I feel it’s had a really positive impact on my own productions.” And prolific too as ‘Courses’ marks the first of two tracks Steve recorded exclusively for the album; the second, ‘Violet’, will follow later in the year on his own label, VIVA Music.

‘Horses’ is the type of track that peak time was invented for – a deep, brooding monster that marries twisted percussion, throbbing bass and a melodic guitar riff. Meticulous production allows the track to rely on a full 3 minutes of bass-free beats, lulling the listener into a near false sense of security before all hell is let loose and the thunder arrives, a definite ‘moment’ by the standards of any record as Steve testifies, “I’ve been really happy with the reaction to the record. It was made for the bigger darker floors and big, scary sound systems and it’s been working well.”

With two further versions included in the package, including a handy mixing tool (Reprise), ‘Courses For Horses’ is a track that will find a home on many of the worlds leading dancefloors, be it Germany, Ibiza or, of course, Viva London. Happy listening!

GTR? Gareth Emery? wtf?! This is a mad tune, one of the highlights of Viva London and probably one of the best tracks on it.

I believe I read on Lawler's forum that GTR means guitar and is a remix by lawler.

Original Mix is immense, the part when the bass actually comes in is superb
