... if every trance song sounded the same then there would only be one song out there... since there is more than one trance song, it goes without saying that they sound similar, not the same... and thus, "the same sound to it" implies similarity, not exact replication.
I see the 'stereotypical" trance song as one with those oh so neat synthey flowing sounds over a nice beat... kind of like the sample given here. Like Solar Stone, Cosmic Gate (sometimes), Pedro & Benno, Blank & Jones, Parker & Clind... etc etc etc.
Witch really brings up a good question... how does one DEFINE trance anyway?? You can hear some songs and be like "yeah, thats trance". But then you hear a song that has a trance feel to it that is 'classified' as house or pregressive... weird. I'll put this in the music discussion forum maybe.
anyway, time to stop rambling.
