well i'm leaving for Costa Rica in about 5 days to do some bushwhacking in the jungle. my tentative itinerary so far looks something like this..
- Fly into San Jose, do stuff, party, etc.
- Arenal volcano hot springs in La Fortuna, Alajuela
- Monteverde, Alajuela - horseback riding up a mountain, and then canopy zip lining all the way back down
- Tamarindo, Guanacaste - surfing, tanning, and beach combing
- Liberia to fly back to Toronto
i know a few of you have been down there before and I was hoping to get some suggestions from anyone who might have some good ideas for me. unfortunately I'm only spending about 11 days there so we're just doing San Jose to the Pacific Coast but I hear that's the place to go..
thanks amigos

San Jose had pretty beaches, some cute bars, but nothing really amazing..
the la fortuna hot springs though, they are gorgeous. I think I have some pics on here somewhere, but definitely don't miss out on that.
uhm, i dont know what else to say haha. when it rains it pours.. so bring a raincoat! haha i got caught in the rain one night and it sucked so bad.. ugh

have a great trip!
nice.. yeah i hear the Westside is supposed to be really nice with the Eastern part a little more underdeveloped for those looking to go off the beaten path.
I'm definitely gonna be bringing a raincoat as we'll be backpacking it down there. do you have a link to the pics from your trip?

i wouldnt go roaming.. theres a lot of shady shit in the undeveloped areas. my parents scared the shit outta me, but i was only 16 and just going with my friends so it might have been a little more exaggerated?
Have a blast Emz, and bring me back something volcanic if you want. :P

go to club vertigo in san jose. lots of top international talent has spun there such as lawler, deepdish, calderone, max grahm the list goes on.
the beaches are always good, however they are incredile in december.good beaches to go to are coco beach and next to it is flamingo beach. they both offer decent hotels and a decent nightlife.
the women in costa rica are unlike anywhere ive ever seen, they say the costa rican women are the most attractive in all of latin america, its gotta be true.

´wow this place is absolutely !"·$%& INSANE!
short review: landed in San Jose.. headed west through the Central Valley into the Cordillera into La Fortuna town where we saw Volcan Arenal one of the most active volcanos in the world. did a kayak through a jungle river and hitup some geothermal hotsprings at the base of the mountain which looked like something out of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon!!
from there we took a jeep boat jeep transport across Lago de Arenal to Monteverde to the south where the cloud rainforests lie. The highlight here was 2 canopy tours where we zipped lined at a height of over 700 ft and between mountains more than 1 km apart!! you guys have to try this out it´s one of the best rushes ever.
we're now in Tamarindo on the pacific coast in Guanacaste where you'll find surfers, skaters, ticos, and rastas. the bud is generous here and so are the people. simply loving it. we´ve been partying now for the past 2 nights at the Crazy Monkey and last nite at Babylon where all the ladies drink free.. si es verdad!
leaving Tamarindo today and heading north along the coast toward Playa Flamingo and Playa Hermosa before catching our flight home via. Liberia.
