Hmm, I think you're wrong here. Perhaps you are getting mixed up with Enigma - The Eyes Of Truth, which featured on a trailer of the film.

As for the song itself, I think it was first released as "The Cynic Project - Matrix II" in 1999 on mp3.com, and was later titled "Grid".
