Yeh NTL is better than bt by a long shot!
i dunno what 128 is like (probably fairly slow), but i have the 512 version (£25 p/m)and it is great! the thing that makes it much better than bt is that ntl don't throttle your bandwidth, and that cable (ntl broadband) has a LOT less packet loss than DSL (bt)
this means that if you want to do online gaming, then you are better off going with ntl otherwise your ping may not be any better than with a 56k modem (with bt)!!
NTL are a better company in my opinion
Chris

bugger, not available where i live
and andover has it, and i recently moved from there!
my dad has the 512k ntl cable, when imm using it i get download speeds of around 60 kb/s and upload of 15 kb/s. As OLDoMiNiON says pings are mega good and ive played online games and had no trouble with conection's etc

yeh - speeds should be a max. average of 64KB/s download, and 16KB/s up!
With the 512 service i have enjoyed pings of under 50ms )
but with bt i have heard stories of people getting in the 2-3 hundreds
this is because of high packet loss, due to dsl using copper wire as a medium, rather than an rj-45 network cable.
..Conclusion: go for NTL

warren u arse, ben told me u ordered this and imo u dont really no what uve ordered do you? 128k = ISDN, ISDN was the internet connection one up from the one you have at the moment, so you will get downloads of around 6-9KB/sec (currently 2-5KB/sec) and uploads of about the same. Cable broadband, 512K, is 60-70KB/sec and 15KB/sec uploads. Which one did u mean to order? the really fast one or the one twice as fast as the one u have now?

NTL is a very good service, I am online at the moment with them and have no trouble and have had no problems previously. They know wot they are doing compared to the monkey muppets that are BT!
