My personal opinion is that if you are worried about games now and would by chance consider picking up the other system sometime in the future, go with a X360.
If you are looking for the future and deciding on a single system and going by the potential of what the systems could be seeingand now that developers should finally be catching up with their knowledge of the PS3, I would go with a PS3. It playing Blu-Ray out of the box is also awesome as it's Blu-Ray picture output might be the best on the market.
Right now PS3 hasn't had too many originals (usually takes a good 12-18 months before we start seeing these things after a console's launch, so we should start seeing them soon) and its ports have been shoddy. But now that the dev kits are everywhere and developers know how to work on the systme, ports should be better.
I cannot wait for Gran Turismo 5 (looks better than anything on X360 as far as racing games. Nothing comes close!), MGS4, Killzone 2, and others....
