Good software for mastering

What is, in your opinion the best software for mastering your tracks
if you are

a) a newbie to mastering
b) have an advanced level of mixing tracks and producing
c) are a pro, a real sound engineer, who knows exactly
what to do ?

Answers welcome for a, b or c so that everyone here around this place can find the right software.

P.S.: And remember: If you have some experience how to make phat sounds or you are curious how to get some nice FX or Presets into
your song, visit my post "Exploration of Sound" !

a) T-racks
B) T-racks
C) T-racks, or rackmount compressors and enhancers/exciters and parametric EQ

for software mastering Wavelab is the only way to go (atleast thats my opinon)... its ultra fast and with the right plugin's you can make your mix kick... i used to master in soundforge but it was just to slow for me...

t-racks is cool but with magneto you can get a nice warm sound with out it. but i do admit the compreser in t-racks is nice.

hey trancevision. Like ur track for the remix comp, great work. But I can tell, u need advice to master.. ur track is at a very low volume level. My advice to master is use Soundforge 5.0 and get something called the Waves Native Gold Bundle, its a plug in.. There is a little compressor there called the RCL compressor. THis little thing is the industry standard software compressor. You gotta make all the settings just right, and when u do, you can boost the volume of your track without distorting. Also there is a pan/expand filter in SOundforge, I think it comes with it. If you set it to light stereo expansion, and set it at about 12% you'll break your track open, and widen the sound very nicely. Hey, would you be interested in making a track together, like a vs? I think we could mix up an insane track together. pm me if your interested

I bought an old version of T-racks (1.1) ...great, now my track sounds like I wanted it. Thanks for the hints for mastering. If anyone
else has some good ideas about mastering , you're welcome.

P.S.: Comments about my track are welcome, too

I use Wavelab to master my tracks now. Havent really put it to good use in any tracks yet, but it's an awesome piece of softare! Like someone mentioned earlier, I think it's better than soundforge too...

I'd like to learn more about T-racks. Is it hardware/software? Does anyone have an official site I could go read specs?

Thanx Trancevision, just got it the other day! Looks pretty good, although I havent gotten a chance to see what it can really do! Even if it is better, Wavelab 4.0 will always have a place in my heart... lol
