"Christmas epic" - orchestral trance (first post here)
Hey guys, first post on these forums; I just finished this up for the upcoming Christmas season. It's an orchestral trance/rock mix of Carol of the Bells, We Three Kings, and a bit of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.
Have to say when I heard Trance, Christmas bells and 3 kings mentioned in the same sentence I almost skipped over it. But actually the bells fit pretty well and I was surprised.
Decent track. Gets a bit too la la la for me though.
The song is quite good. Really liked the tubular bells in it.
but, for Christmas' sake, pls delete the tiny bells (sleigh-bells) from it!
It comes in at different places and very annoying. Without that it would be a superb track.
Cheers,
Caine

Thanks guys. Going to try to get some local radio airtime with this.
hey audix...
I like to hear trance remixes and i like to hear medleyes and i like to hear christmas songs... so this fits allll those bills!
a trance remix of a christmas medley lol.
First, I would want to hear this in a better quality form, cuz this streaming player demolishes the track's quality i think.
Okay, I am not a fan of the bass I am able to hear. I like your work with the chord progressions and the melodies. I think there is a bit too much midwash reverb..part of the problem is probably that the high and low are mangled in the streaming player encoding...
i dont like ur snare. but thats personal preference i guess. I see this more as a "techno remix" than trance...if u know what i mean. I like the bit of acid bass things going on. i find your perc thin and your bass/kick/snare/hats could be a TON more driving. I also think you should have some kind of eastern sitar synth for the we three kings theme haha thatd be sweet!
I always wanted to do a remix of christmas tracks. Basically,.its a good track but I think there's too much delay and reverb for the amount of stuff going on (esp at the rate its going on ) Work on better drive for kick and bass. Your placement of synths EQ-wise would help bring out more clarity and allow for more generous verb usage.
but over all a pretty cool track! (ps did u use FL studio for this?)
