Allergies.
I just found out that I'm allergic to cold weather.
Last night after getting out of work, I had to walk for 30 minutes in the bone-crushing cold looking for a cab to get home, we had a brutal snow storm these past couple of days and there were no cabs in sight, and the ones that passed me were occupied, fuck!
When I couldn't take it anymore I got inside a building and called my mom to come pick me up, and while waiting for her I noticed that my hands and face were getting blood red and started to itch, then a few min later my hands started to swell like crazy..took almost 24 hours to get back to normal. Long story short, I have just developed an allergy to the cold, and I live in Canada. ..looks like I'm gonna have to hibernate for 5 months...there goes my ski trip I've been looking forward to.
Found this info online.

As strange as it sounds, it is possible to have an allergy to cold temperatures. Doctors refer to this as Urticaria.
In some people, skin exposure to cold temperatures triggers the release of histamine and other chemicals into the skin. This results in skin redness, itching, swelling and hives. Although symptoms may begin during the cold exposure, they're often worse during rewarming of the exposed skin.
The cause of cold urticaria isn't clear. But certain people appear to have overly sensitive histamine-containing skin cells. |
What about you guys? Have any allergies?
Oh and I'm also allergic to Kiwi now. I used to love them as a child. =/
