J-Tek - a new sub genre of music? Thoughts?

Audio here -
www.myspace.com/jtekrecords

Although Jungle Tekno was around 92-94 it never really lasted long and most of the world have no clue what it is. 140 bpm provides crossover ability with other genres. I think this could be a new scene. Sounds gooood to me!

I hear big things are happening for this label ... I've been given insight to a few things that I think will begin changing the music scene a bit. There are some proper old skool house/techno djs that will find this genre very interesting and who may be collaborating in the near future with J-Tek Records. I think J-Tek as a genre will soon make a name for itself.

I'm glad you guys are liking it. I'm well ready for something different nowadays.

Listening to the sample and knowing the 90-94 era a bit, it's nothing new. Ravish breakbeat techno. If it adds some diversity and if we don't get zillions of records sounding the same (like mnml), I'm all for it!

I think Basement Records would be a better comparison.

I heard about this J-Tek label yesterday. The name is funny, since I guess it can also refer to Japanese techno. Some people are already bringing back jungle influences to dubstep (which is also around 140bpm), and more people working within that tempo range should be great. Maybe it will lead to d'n'b slowing down again, as there's been a lot of complaints that 180bpm+ is simply too fast.

I certainly hope not.
Besides, drum'n'bass has kept that speed for ~10 years, I see no reason why it would slow down now.

Dig it, but I do not think it will get big. Its got a great Underground sound. So I am sure we will start seeing it in some side rooms and out door parties. But I just don't see it crushing the dance flour like a good old fashioned jungle or DnB track. I will definitely keep I ear open for more though.

Thanks for the Post
