I've got Kore 1, maybe if your doing live stuff its worth it, but it doesnt' really do much... I got it in a package with komplete 4, that was a good deal, but I'd never buy it by itself...

What did you want it for? Most hosts started doing all the stuff it claims to do a month or two after kore 1 came out, so its a bit obsolete.

Just seen kore 2 demo and it looks pretty good. I like the way you can get to sounds quickly and the organisation as well, not my strongest quality lol.

Well, thats ok, but remember that if your switching synths to get to the presets the load times are long. What DAW are you using? Maybe it has some preset management in it already..?
All the NI synths have a kore type browser anyway. Maybe if your using other synths it would be useful, I mainly use the NI ones now so I don't really have any problem finding stuff.
Just remember that other synths presets won't show up in Kore until you've saved them, that takes a very long time... If you don't have any NI synths maybe its better value since it has some of their sounds or something now I think.

i have kore 1, komplete, and just recieved kore 2 last week. i'm still sinking my teeth into kore 2, and trying to wrap my head around the new features... but over all, i love kore. it really helped me to turn my mpc/computer combo into a giant groovebox.

the only reason why i even bought kore/komplete was so i can use kore to manage komplete 3. for me, the sound browser is the most awsome thing in world for me. i love how i can just use kore's FX as a plug-in inside of sonar also.

there a couple of things that bug me about kore1/2... i don't know if it's me, or just can't understand manual, or the features i'm looking for don't exist.

1) i still don't know, or can't make kore make use of a plug-in's multi channel output. i love emulator, but if i load one instance of it in kore 1/2, all the different instruments get mixed. i don't know how to separate the sounds, or if it can even be done. -if it can't be done... what a shame... especially if love kontakt. i also have this problem w/battery. eventhough battery is not multi-timberal, it does have several out puts, so you separate your sound in mix them in a DAW or something.

if you want to make everything mixable, that means i have to load a new instance of a plug in to represent every single little sound i want to use. so that means 4 instances of battery, a 8 instances of emulator x2... when in sonar i can do the same song w/one instance of each.

2) for what ever reason, i can't make heads or tails of the manual... especially the kore 2 manual. i still have no idea how to make the arp work. still now idea of how work w/multi-out capable plug ins.

3) still trying to figure out how to make kore2 recognize all the sounds that kore1 was recoginzing. right now, even tho i like the kore2 broswer better... all i get are sounds from fm7/8, absynth 3/4, massive, some reaktor sounds... and what ever sounds that came w/kore2. my list of hits have nothing from battery, vokator, spektral delay, pro-53, acoutic/elektrik piano, b4, kontakt, etc.

also, kore2 crashes a lot on my system. i just reinstalled windows, updated the hell out of it, updated the bios, and chipset drivers. i even partitioned the hard drive (1st time i have ever done this) so i can have one windows xp pro install dedicated to making music. i followed the opus audio projects guide for configuring a computer for use w/a daw. most of the time kore will crash when i'm playing a sequence from the mpc, and i start changing sounds w/out stopping the mpc first. but it also crashes randomly too (at least it looks random to me.) the mpc is stopped. i go downstairs get a glass of water, come back. save the project before i start tweaking some more, and bam... crash.

kore1 is a lot more stable for me. also, i'm using the kore1 hardware controller. actually it's only once in a blue moon when i actually use the controller... with or with out, kore2 still gives me headaches.

honestly, i wasn't planning on getting kore2 so soon... but the $59 dollar upgrade offer was only good till dec 31. i couldn't say no to that...
