i dunno, the fact that they bring in someone like svd and then schedule him to play 1-3 makes me wonder wtf space is thinking.
i mean dont get me wrong. im a) happy they brought him at all and b) happy they let him spin longer.
but whoever thought "oh yea, svd, #32, been tearing shit up lately, lets book him for 2 hours" is fucking stupid.
hopefully in dec he'll get 4 hours. cuz those 3.5 sander said in his newsletter was actually only 3 and it still wasnt enough. if it actually would of been 2 i would of ended up being blacklisted from space. |
contractually they gave him a two hour set solely so if he sucked for any reason(this happens to alot of new djs there) then he could be taken off in 2 hrs...luckily he doesn't suck so he got to stay on longer. and even better news for you all that since people went and spent money, he gets to come back again in december, so at least other than pvd and acosta there is one more trancer to add in.(or whatever they call his music these days, i heard the last hour and that was trance, it was way too fast for my taste but he did keep a good flow in the club) The business comes before the people. if the money is there he gets to hang. For what i heard, I thought he did a pretty good job playing that room, no matter how god one is a dj, that room can be very hard to keep moving for hours on end, why Oscar is there week in and out, he can play for 10 hours and keeps people happy.
