Funk D'Void & Sian - Ginebra [Soma]

Out now on Soma:

A1: Funk D'Void's Cocktail Mix
A2: Sian's Leopardskin Mix
B1: Onionz Corrosion Mix
B2: Djinx Remix

Just a sick, sick release from the Soma crew here, both FDV and Sian's mixes are epic and completely distinct from one another. FDV's is very much a melding of his Francois Dubois and Funk D'Void alias' into a very chill, loungy tune. Sian's is deep, rolling, hypnotic techno not unlike that of recent Radio Slave - I really can't wait to see how this one works into my own sets.

The Onionz turned in what I felt was a pretty standard "tech house" remix for this release, so I wasn't really feeling it too much - sounds a lot like everything else that's out there right now. Might be big in a set though.

The Djinx mix is very, very trancey - I purchased it, but no idea if I like it or not yet.

Samples @ BP.

I got the Onionz mix, but the more I bump it on the ipod the more I doubt I'll play it...as you say, pretty bog standard...

I'm not really feeling the Funk D'Void remix this time. Guess I'll have to wait till his Horizon remix gets a release

I like the 'deepness' of the Funk D'void Cocktail Remix. It's gorgeous and would be a lovely opener/early track in a mix.

Onionz Corrosion Mix is definately going a different direction than that of the FDV remix, but a solid track as well.

Thanks for the info on this RJT, Helluva release in my opinion.
