What should I buy?

My current headphones are hand-me-downs from my ex; and they are too big for my head and have no more um... elasticity?? left in them... should I get Pioneer HDJ-1000's or Technics RPDH1200's... I only need a moderatley decent pair...

Input?

The pioneers will undoubtedly break! We have had about 4 pairs of them all of which have broken in the same place. Everyone I have asked about this has said the same thing. That being said I still love the damn things, so soft haha. The technics RPDH1200's are a little bulky for me personally and that's why I have the technics 1200A's which have nicely replaced the pioneers.

Those pioneers are pricey, and tend to fall apart from what I've heard (never owned a pair). The Technics are good, but sorta harsh for my taste. If you want to stay mainstream, I'd say go with the Sony MDR-v700 as you can find them pretty cheaply on the net. I use ultrasones (HFI-550, and now the DJ1), and I love them, but they can be sorta pricey.

I have a hand me down pair of the sony's I don't know which model but they have ZERO grip and are too big (even full squished together) for my head...

Keryn - thanks for you input; I'm gonna check those out as well!

But Wait, Keryn, do your 1200A's swivel in all directions? (the ear pieces, that is?) My roomie has phones like that and I prefer the other way.. (they bend and swivel but not to the same degree)...does that make any sense? lolol

DON'T GET THE PIONEERS!

They break, and they are heavy as fuck. Your head and neck will hurt after one hour.

Get some Sennheisers or Technics or somethin

I only play out like once a year and for fun, so I don't really need anything hardcore.

Gathering opinions, the Techs look to be the winner. Goin' to the store to pick em up after work.
