Sounds great. The number I send you will be my Orange SIM card that I bought in 2006. It should still work when I get there unless Orange started expiring their cards (when I bought it, there was no expiration). |
If it's a prepaid card, most of the providers have 1 year as expiration period. So it could be that your Orange number doesn't work anymore.

Soon as I can find one, I'll get a new Lebara SIM card instead though. Calls are a lot cheaper, especially back to the States (9 cents landline/12 cents mobile!) I bought one of those in 2006 as well, and it was one of the greatest deals I ever got in NL! Lebara expires the cards after 9 months without any top-offs, so I'll PM you my new Lebara number as well around 14-15 February once I get it. |
Yes Lebara is cheaper.

I'll be there for 11 days, coming back Monday after TE. I've visited Schagen, Haarlem, Leiden, Alkmaar, Zandvoort am Zee, Maastricht, Texel, Amsterdam, and have spent just a few hours in Utrecht, Den Haag, Breda (Magik Muzik store was closed, dammit, but I did have some good Stamppot there!) and Zoetermeer. Also went to the Zuiderzee Museum and the Keukonhof Gardens. |
You visit a lot of places already. Oh and by the way: It's Zandvoort aan Zee, not am Zee, that's German
You liked the stamppot?

I've never visited Anhem, or many of the cities east of Amsterdam though. Seems that cities with a lot of museums may be the best, so that way I can stay warm! I have a 5-day Holland train pass, so will use that for the longer trips that exceed about 22EUR, otherwise my pass is cheaper. If any of my friends have the Voordeelurenabonnement pass, I think that would be ideal for our train travel to Utrecht, since it's 40% off including 3 other people for off-peak travel! |
Here in the east of Holland you have nice cities too.
Arnhem is having a nice museum: The Open Air Museum, don't know if it's open during winter season, don't think so.
Nijmegen is also a beautiful city. the oldest city of Holland: 2000 years old. Build during the Roman Empire.

Wow, that's an amazing story. I met my friends in Noord Holland back in 1999 because I put a song of theirs on my website and they emailed me back to say thanks. Now we're friends 6 years later and have visited each other across the Atlantic several times. Power to the music! |
Nice story too
