Seaman's generally been hit or miss with me, but his Audio Therapy releases are definitely a step in the right direction to foster your interests.
They typically include many of the major Prog acts and productions of the year, and the 'guest' mix portion of the comp is always an added bonus. That said, I own AT volumes 2 through 4, and I would definitely recommend checking out volume 2. Volume 3 was somewhat disappointing on both discs, and although I'm only about 3/4 of the way through disc 1 on volume 4, it already sounds outstanding (though it's so far more Tech-Housish than the Prog. you're probably looking for). Although this isn't my strongest recommendation, you may want to consider picking up his Renaissance: Masters mix comp if you can find a used copy (and he's also got another one coming out this year, it seems).
With the exception of his Melbourne installment, I would steer clear of his GU releases. Finally, check out some of his "Across Borders" releases, as they consist of the various tracks that are signed to his label according to the region they're from (I'm sure you can find a cheap, used copy of this).
