Recommendation: MP3 renaming program

Can someone recommend a program that can rename MP3s easily? I have my MP3 collection with only ID3V2 tags that have the artist and titles filled out in all lowercases (for example: cass & slide – perception (vocal mix) ) and the file name is all lowercases as well (cass & slide – perception (vocal mix).mp3).

I would like to find a program that will automatically rename the filename to “Cass & Slide – Perception (Vocal Mix).mp3) and rename the ID3V2 tags as well. I guess it would find the information from the ID3V2 tag and rename each first letter to capitalize it.

Can anyone recommend something like this?

Thank you,
Keith

You only need one:

Eagson

link

there are few thigns to remember with tag renaming though.

with ID3V2, if you have a live set, and try to change the tag, the program has to creat a whole new mp3, cant just replace the tag. Even winamp does this, thats why it seems to crash sometimes.

Same with this program. it will seem like it has crashed, but just let it work through, it will finish, and be fine, dont get upset and try to do stuff in it, cause then you might crash it.

ive been using it for years, and my mp3 collection is like 70gigs, so i do know something about organizing and such. great program enjoy!

I have tried before to find the perfect renameing program for mp3s but the best so far I have used is
"mp3 file formater"... belive that was the name but it doesn't seem like they will be coming out with a newer version than v5.0

It lets you massrename, mass-ID3-tag and you can set the filters just the way you want.

Eagson

i guess i should have stated some features:

1) batch tag filling
2) batch mp3 file name -> tag filling
3) batch ^^ other way around, lol

those are the good ones.

it has lots of little small features, like capitalizing the first letter in each word...etc

mp3 tag studio

Don't let the crude website fool you ... this program is extremely powerful - a bit overwhelming at first, but his scripting engine is second to none... I've used this for years.

mp3 tag studio has a banner-box if you don't register, but doesn't install any crap - i can vouch for that.

If anybody is using linux, you can try EasyTag.

Its actually better than Eagson, which is impressive.

I've always used Tag+Rename. Pretty good program, but you might have to ... buy it.
