Creating trance sweeps on Virus TI

Hi,

Does anybody know where I can get some trance sweep patches for the Virus TI or some tips for creating them? I'm a new TI user so just getting my head around programming.

I've found the onboard patches plus those I've downloaded (incl some Vengeance patches I've bought) are more pads, leads, bass etc.

I'm looking to create some white noise type sweeps. I seemed to be able to do them with ease in Reason using the maelstrom - quite simple really. White noise and filter envelopes with some reverb and delay. Don't seem to be getting the same results trying to programmed the TI.

cheers
Reno

Hi Reno

I used to own a TI and purchased this disk from ebay

Link

When it arrived it had loads of patches/soundbanks on it.

Try and find a sweep patch in the Vengeance sound bank you bought and find out how he did it. I think you just activate noise only and mess about with the envelopes + FX. Also try sticking a LFO on the Filter cutoff for some movement. I think the modulation page is your friend.

Good luck mate

P.s Your tracks are quite good on myspace. Loved the pic dangers of mast%&*ation

Cheers dude,

I have done a bit of experimenting with copying or learning how the patches have been created on the TI however I haven't managed to find the type of sweeps I'm looking for in either the Vengeance (I only bought 1) patches or onboard.

I may purchase that cd you bought though. Looks interesting. And for now I think I can probably create the sweeps on Vanguard.

I actually thought that the noise oscillator on the TI could not be effected by the LFO's or Matrix but then I've only owned my TI for a month and haven't explored the programming yet.

PS - thanks for the comments. More tracks on the mp3unsigned site (see signature).

That cd you bought is against the law. Most of the soundbanks on there are comercially available. It would cost a few hundred pounds to purchase all the soundbanks on that disc that youve paid 8 pounds for! Support the sound designers and at least pay for there work?

Cheers dude appreciated. To export the patch you need to go to your patch folder in my docs\Virus TI\Patches. Creat a subfolder called My patches and copy your my patches.mid file to this folder. Rename it to My patches 1.mid. Make sure it's a copy and not the original. You can now browse that patch in Virus Control, delete all the patches through the browser and only copy the one you want to send me. Done!!

PS: please make sure you copy your personal library. Don't want you to blame me for deleting your personal stuff!!

@Reno: Is quite easy man... you can search for "noise" in the patches.. and transform The MODULATORS shape into wave.. & play with the Filter CutOff

Been doing that for noise WOOZY stuff!

Cheers!
