Any opinions? I am currently waiting my 360 to be repaired. however, i was really tempted to buy a PS3. Are there actually any major differences??

price wise the PS3 is a lot more....cheapest i can find it at is $680!

whichever has the most games you wish to play.

i heard there are no split-screen games yet for the PS3. so its really only a family entertainment system if there's no more than 1 person in the family?

mind you the reason you would buy a ps3 over a 360 today is probably bluray.. you get a player and a ps3 in one, and the ps3 is up the top with the best of the bluray players too

in terms of console vs console for games theyre both on par and the 360 is even coming out on top with ports, but i bought a ps3 because sony just knows how to make a console.. theres so many more games that are going to be available on the PS3, opposed to the million first person shooters on the 360. That and the fact that the xbox brand just isn't that strong yet really.

By the end of this year the ps3 will be outselling the 360, and it was released nearly a year later. Speaks volumes doesn't it.

We have both.

Funnily enough the 360 is solely for games, the PS3 is solely for blu ray and the media capabilites.

So far the games on the 360 are heaps better than whats on PS3 but that may change in the future.

PS3 is a better package overall imo tho.

only going off what ive heard, burnout no longer has split screen tho which i thought was pretty shitty.

gt5 is 2 player and 16 player online
fifa 08 is 8 player on screen and online
Unreal tournament is multiplayer online
Cod4 is 2-4 (can't remember) on screen and online.

then there's army of two (2 player cooperative for the whole game) which is an awesome concept.

All online games play extremely well, which has suprised me.
