I am doing a bit of research for a college project looking into what factors influence a trance DJs choice of format.
factors such as sound quality/price/availability/ etc. Have technological advancements in playback medium
(CD turntables/Laptop + software combos) affected your choice ?.Do other *** DJs favour the same format also?
and Do you use more than one format in a set? any info on the subject would be much appreciated

sound quality isnt even an issue anymore. People use cds cause of convienience simple. When i used to buy vinyl i used to buy 6 or 7 at a time and cost me about £50 then i had to wait a couple of days for it to be delivered. I started using cds and now i can go on a site buy my tracks burn them to cd and start mixing them within half hour no waiting round for mr postman and i can fill a cd with £10. So using cds is more conveinient (cant spell that word) and cheaper aswell.

nowadays i use all of them. i don't want to limit what music i can buy. so i buy stuff on cd if it's released on cd and can be found for a reasonable price, if not then i'll look for the mp3 or wav. if i can't find it for sale as a download either, i'll buy the vinyl.
