Armin Van Buuren.... Interesting fact...

Why are his ASOT music that he plays totally different than the music he plays at his live shows????? If he always played what he plays on the radio def he would be better than Tiesto... BTW his 340'th episode is real good.

He does play some of the same stuff he plays on asot. I also agree that this new episode is real good so far.
Actually i think that what he plays on the asot is alil mellow compared to what he plays on live. The asot episodes are meant more as a way to let people know what's new in edm. The live shows is where the manipulate the tracks to do crazier stuff in my opinion.

True but I really like his stuff he plays on ASOT but I guess he will really need a 8 hr set to start playing those mellow stuff.

OK, you obviously haven't seen Armin a lot, in different cities.

Armin does indeed play a lot like he does on ASOT in a lot of cities...and oddly, people aren't a big fan of it because it's a bit soft.

He seems to play in LA a lot this way over the past several years.

For some reason, SF usually brings out a whole different side of Armin and he just BRINGS IT here and his sets are far more energetic and flat out superior to his radio show. He occasionally have an iffy night in SF, but most of the time it's amazing. I've yet to really be blown away by a set of his in LA.

A similar thing used to go on with PvD. I would see him in LA and SF all the time with a group of friends (some from LA, some from SF) and his sets in SF were consistently harder and flat out better than his LA sets. This hasn't really been so since probably 2003/2004 though.

Honestly Armin has done nothing for me the past 3 times ive seen him, both in LA and SF. Stopped listening to ASOT in hopes of next time I see him I at least stay for his whole set. Maybe its the venue although I loved Circus so maybe not I had a chance to see him at Pacha NYC last fall but skipped out on that for M.A.N.D.Y./Damian Lazarus at the Gingerbread House which turned out to be one of my favorite gigs from last year, talk about a natural high!
