Trance/Prog-trance track - Untitled - 132bpm

Hello everyone,

After my last track took about 3 weeks to complete, this one took about 3 days so it was a relief if nothing else to do a tune much quicker.

I suppose this would be classed as trance but certainly nothing epic or driving.

I haven't thought of a name yet but I'd love to know what you think...

Thanks very much

You're gonna have to bring it out more! The synths are very weak at the moment. Not much atmosphere to speak of if you know what I mean. The end of the last breakdown at the end is cool... the composition is actually pretty nice. Has a little Gabriel & Dresden feel to it! I would play one of their tracks and then play one of yours, and see what yours might seem to lack (if that's the approach you're going for). But like I said, cool melodies! The percs come together a little bit better at the end with the bassline.

Thanks for the reply evolve40.

Yeah, I agree the one synth may be a bit on the eak side. I thought the others were actually okay but thanks for the feedback.

Anyone else?

The start is excellent on this. Love the bass that comes in at 1:00 then the break at at about 2:50.

Not mad about the synth melodies though. And defo agree, you need to bring them out more.

Basically some great elements but some bad elements that unfortunately bring the track down. Percussion at 4:50 is also great. I need to learn how to do better percussion.

Work on this one though. You have a great basis for a good track.

This is pretty good. I like the crunchy percussion.

The synths sound pretty decent, but it kind of feels like something is missing. Maybe try adding another synth melody or more variation / modulation in the ones you have?

Good tune. Nothing to be ashamed about, really.

The buildup was good, the pad was creative, but it left something to be desired, personally. In some ways, the pad seems to whine-n-grind and modulate too much in the wrong way. Creative, yes... in some ways annoying? Perhaps.

The melodic change for the pad was a breath of fresh air in addition to the airy-synth addition.

The big plus to the track was the percussion, musical structure, and the bassline. I think you have some potential here, but some reconstructions to make.

Well I'm big on complex percussion myself, so I thought it was good to hear some going on in this tune. I'm in awe of that stuttered airy pad effect, very smooth. I'm listening on a decent set of surround sound speakers here with a big sub and the kick, clap and bassline punch together nicely. Percs are nice and crispy. As for the synths though, I think perhaps you could up the frequency on them a bit, or perhaps add a sharp synth carve up the melody and add some more high end, since you're not really using a strong mid-beat hat. Just a suggestion, but nice work

Heh, I've never heard "sounds similar to a lawnmower going over rocks" used as a compliment before...
