What's a good online broker?
So I think i've paid off most of credit cards and have some cash lying around that I need to invest.
Whats a good online broker to use?
I have a Scotia MaCleod account, but I don't like Scotia so I'm not going to use it anymore.
Is E*Trade any good? I walk by there building all the time and it looks pretty.
What do you guys use?

Don't quote me but as far as a good return and bang for your buck I've heard ING is great.
I'm the same position now and I'm scouting a bit...

I've used TD for years, then TA took all my stock watch time, and said fcuk-it.

Give it to me, I will invest it in my house for you.
Savings are shit, there will be another half point drop on base rate mid-April and I don't see the markets doing much better really.
Would have been better to throw it into an RRSP pre-deadline then you would have a start for your homebuyers plan deposit
It's times like this that I wish I was in debt. Far better climate for you to owe then own....

I pretty much maxed out my RRSPs so thats no worries.
Yes, the markets are pretty shitty right now, but I have some extra cash that I wouldn't mind using for some long-term investments. I have some savings on the side right now which I am using towards buying a house eventually, but I like to gamble and instead of putting my money on the line at the casino I thought the stock market would be just as fun!
Start building my portofolio as I am not looking for a quick return and am looking for a longer term investment in something realiable..

Very ironic you just posted that. I just finished writing an email in regards to this.
