There was a mixtape I would listen to in 98,99 that had this track at the end of it right after aphex's didjeridoo. It had this sample saying "My God it's full of Stars" and had the most incredible whompy bass kick and this melody that sounds like it's from Sesame street theme song but just a bit of it looped. It was an amazing track.
The tape I wanna say was by DJ Trance but can't remember. Possibly his west coast energy vol 2...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE identify!

Yup that's the sample. And the sample is from 2001 a space odyssey so it's sampled quite frequently. Not a bad track but not at all like the one I'm talking about.
The whompy basskick I refer to sounds more like a hit that reverses back into itself it was so tight. I don't know if I'll ever track that down. I'd probably have to find the tracklist of the tape but I can't even remember what tape it was... :'(
