The complaint was registered by Paramount/Dreamworks. Has this happened to anyone else? Now I am super paranoid

wow that sucks, you were probably uploading something from Paramount/Dreamworks, as far as I know, downloading isn't illegal in Canada.

As far as I know, I was only downloading I will check my settings when I get home.
From what I gather, this is only a "warning" email..? Not sure. Just wanted everyone else to be aware when partaking in their own activities.

Yeah my friends got it ... what BT client are you using?
They were using bitcomet before, once that happened ... I forced them to use uTorrent w/ ipfilter and so far nothing has happened and that was a year ago.

Bitlord. Would you mind giving me detailed instructions on setting up uTorrent w/ ipfilter because I don't even know what that means.

uTorrent is a BT client. Almost every site was demanding users to use this client, b/c it didn't leak any data while uploading or downloading.
ipfilter is pluggin' used for uTorrent, it's a database of all the "bad " IPs .... it's always updated. Once this database is DLed and activated on your utorrent, whatever "bad " IPs are connected to your comp, it's atuomaticly banns it.
I updated my ipfilter everyday.

ditch the email and dont worry. your isp is not releasing your details to paramount/dreamworks. They are simply forwarding the complaint and serves as a warning.
Id say avoid non-private bit torrents. Oftentimes, they will put fakes seeds out there to find out who leeches the copyrighted content and if u download, they nag your ISP

I got one from Microsoft a couple years back because my Embedded MS Office Install was completely corrupted and simply wouldn't operate - Thus, I hit the internuts to find it.
