Dj Jurgeon, Marco V, DJ Morgan and others... In vancouver??.( well.. near vancouver)

That is a crazy line up for Trance-Gate on 11th of May. It seems its too good to be true! Marco is one of my fav's DJs. I m having thoughts that the event is a fake. HEY, i could be tottally wrong here.
The thing is.. why would the producers make the party at the Riverside?? I've been to that place once, and it isnt big at all. SOmebody told me that place holds around 1200 people max. Tickets being sold for way less than 50$, how are the producers supposed to break even with such a line up

Anywayz.. if those people are actually comeing.. i ll be getting the tix right now, but untill i hear some positive thoughts about that party.. Twisted 2002 on april 20th, it is!

cheerz

psur :-)

I am not a fan of Riverside but I can say that Trancegate party will kick ass over over Twisted 2002. Trancegate has a crazy line-up? Well Marco V is sweet, Jurgen is pretty good. But it takes more than 2 DJs to make it a crazy line-up. I will tell you how they will break even. They cheaped out on the venue, they have +90% local DJs and half I have never heard of and I bet the sound and lights will be average.

You have a hard on for this Twisted party which tells me that you either are friends with Twisted or you don't know shit about what a good party actually is.

If I had to chose between parties I would definatly pick Trancegate because Marco and Jurgen are better than the whole Twisted line-up put together.

Just my 2 cents

marco is definately big and i'd love to see him spin
but jurgen, i dunno, cheese is all comes to mind
all others, never heard of them

personally, i decided not to go, despite the fact that marco will be there, i can always listen to any of his livesets, almost any
i wouldnt wanna waste $50 just to see him

^^ my 2 cents

What venues do you guys like in vancouver?

Why would they have it at riverside? well they dont have many options, thats one of the only venues that can get legal permits for an all night party.

Legal Venues i can name off the top of my head that are STILL in use and can go all night:

PNE
Plaza of nations
Riverside
The Palace(across the street from riverside)

Plaza costs 50g's to rent, the PNE costs more.....its all about the bling bling, there is no way there going to fill the plaza or PNE on Marco V alone so they dont have much of a choice

Both Jurgen and Marco V have "Trance Gate" listed on there websites for upcoming performances. Ill be there for sure....we havnt been getting much GOOD talent....would be crazy to miss him. Im sure They will be making cash off this party, expensive tickets and they will sell out for sure.

Oh ya and Trancegate has more headliners then the average party....in the mainroom there are only 3 locals...and GrooveRobber kicks ass. You got to figure that the party is going to start a 9 so of course they need some filler Dj's to get things warmed up. The second room is all locals but its the breaks room.....I doubt many of you will be in the breaks room with whats going on in the main.

I dont know why but i really expect good things from this party....its that good party vibe you get sometimes.

Dude that's not true, 6 DJ's in the main room half are headliners, if 3 headliners is more than the average party the scene in Vancouver does suck.

Well I have to say the PNE is my fav, then Plaza

I understand S/K what you mean about they can't fill PNE or Plaza on Marco V alone but that is my point. Get one more headliner on the mainstage and a couple for the breaks room and get a nice venue.

I think this party is an insult to the caliber of Marco V and is a bad impression of Vancouver. I mean this guy has played nearly everywhere and now he is playing in a shithole like Riverside.

I don't think this party will suck at all, I just don't think its going to be as good as it could have been.

man there are only 3 locals here, what do you expect them to do? There not going to waste the money putting a headliner on at 9pm and there not going to put one on as the last DJ up usually 6-8 am. There are 2 guys from Germany doing a tag team, i wouldnt really consider them local. This riverside party has more headliners then most.

man i dont think you realize the magnitude of a plaza or PNE production, its pretty much impossible to throw your first party at a venue like that without having a name for yourself. I mean come on who the fuck are "ShyBrothers productions" anyway? i dont know nor does anyone in Vancouver. Plus whos to say they would even be able to get a permit for one of the big venues the plaza just opend up again, the city is being pretty tight assed with permits.

Marco V may have a name in The UK and toronto but not here, despite how much our TA's love him, his name dosnt mean shit here.

Shame / Disagreement well let me see...

Well jesten and special_k my dear pimps
enough of unnecesary debating
as for the rest of you do as you please, but I know that whenever I would see some good trance DJ coming from europe I would go to see him no matter where was he playing at and who was bringing him
cause I know I dont have money to go to europe to see him

whats done is done, party is coming up so lets make most out of it...
its not the venue that counts you know that, but the people and atmosphere that matters
as for lights and sound just wait and see, it might be better than you think...
the fact that nobody knows about shybro shouldnt stop anybody from comming when international talent is brought cause as we know its realy rare that we get some good europe quality trance DJ's here,
so we should seize the oportunity when it arrives even if it was my grandmother who was making a party
peace to all of you trance lovers
and I'll see you soon
ciao

Maybe there are not all locals but there are definetly more than 3. Also being from an other country dosen't make you a headliner in my books. Come on man you worked for Pure right? How many headliners did you guys have. Mixmag/Xtravaganza Dec 2000, sweet line-up sweet party, there must have been 6-7 headliners. The Slinky party was pretty sweet as well. They just don't make many partys like that any more and it is seriously starting to bother me. Ahh, the good old sweet parties were great 2. But now you got these promoters trying to sell us these so-called 'great' parties but they are not in comparison.

Yes I do know the magnitude of a plaza and PNE party. And you made made a good point that since Shy Bros are nobodys in Vancouver it might be harder to get a venue like plaza or PNE.

Really? I didn't know Marco V is a nobody in Van.

Morphalo man debating is fun.....i dont think any of us have any bad feelings toward eachother.....just a nice friendly debate

Ya MixMag was probably the best party i have ever been to. The thing with Pure is that mixmag wasnt there first party, they built a name for themselves with there first party "Tranceparent". Also i know for a fact they they have a VERY wealthy guy funding there partys, a luxory most promoters dont have. I wouldnt be suprised

Anyway a friend of mine was talking to the guys from ShyBrothers (trance gate promoters) and they said there next party is going to go off huge....they just need to build a name for themselves. Honstly i expect pretty good things from these guys, just the fact that there headliners have the party listed in there coming performances on ther webpages is a step ahead of most new promotors.

My comment about Marco V was pretty harsh....i was going to edit it out but i didnt really have time. Ok from personal experience over the years i have come to the conclusion that the average "Raver" dosnt know shit about the music they listen to, of course there are exceptions. Lets face it %75 of the people thay buy tickets for partys are the little ravers. I remember when i went to twisted 2001 to see John'00'Fleming I didnt meet a single person that entire party that knew who he was, sam goes for MixMag and Slinky and there headliners. Pretty much what i was getting at is that Marco V wouldnt even come close to filling the plaza....not by a long shot. i Think that after this performance people will be more inclined to look into his productions and that will build a name for him on the west coast.

Sorry for the long post
